Age: 37

Profession: Stay at home mom of 3 and wife

How long have you been on this weight loss journey?  For a while now but became serious about it when I saw that being a part of LiveFit was actually working for me. I was sent to a dietician for high cholesterol and with the help of LiveFit my cholesterol is lower with food and exercise. No meds were needed!

Weight Loss/Inches: I have done 3 challenges over the year. Each one I have been very excited about my success. I had ups and downs through the year but overall I have lost about 20lbs and around 25 inches.

What was your “low point”? I was sent to a dietician for high cholesterol, as I mentioned before, and did not like how my clothes were fitting. My hormone levels were off as well. I felt I was growing by the day. I really needed to get healthy.

How did you get started? My friend Wendy would ask me all the time to come to bootcamp and give it a try. She even threatened to just show up in my drive way and take me there. After talking to my friend Rhiannon, who was a newbie at the time, encouraged me that if she could do it, I could too. I then signed up for the 2014 Biggest Loser challenge with Steve (my husband), Jon Moore & Leslie Scott. I quickly became addicted to the workouts. I never saw that coming. I saw my body changing and I felt so much better in the energy department.

What is your workout routine and eating plan? I attend classes about 3-4 times a week, sometimes more if I can squeeze it in. Still working on the eating plan. I eat a lot better than I did a year ago. I do great during the challenges and feel great. I have learned to stay away from fast food and mountain dew, try to eat clean, and allow myself cheats from time to time.

What are your top 3 favorite resources that helped you along the way?

1.) FRIENDS!! 🙂 It is so important to have a buddy or buddies. I have a group text going for accountability with my friends that were on my Rock Your Jeans team. We keep each other going. I also love being out there working out with friends and Steve.

2.) LiveFit! All the coaches are so encouraging and are so creative with the classes they come up with.

3.) My family! They have stuck by my side and have encouraged me through my crazy cycles. They are so encouraging and keep me wanting to stay healthy for them.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting? I’m stealing this from Nike, haha, but Just Do It. I thought bootcamp would be so intimidating but its not at all. I still have fears of some things but I have learned over the past couple of years to never say never. Another thing I would say is come watch for the first time and you will see its not bad at all.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process but is feeling discouraged? It is a slow process to lose weight the healthy way but so worth it and everyone is different. Don’t be afraid of the word “exercise” like I was. It really can be fun. Courtney Barnes & Wendy Quinn always say “trust the process” and I repeat that to myself often.

Anything else you would like to share? Your journey may not be perfect but just keep pushing forward and you will be surprised what your body and mind can do when they work together. I use to look at my friends like they were crazy for being on this crazy train for all the exercising and for not eating bread and cookies. LOL. Now I am one of the crazies!
