Age: 33 (also known as I recently celebrated the 8th anniversary of my 25th birthday) 😉

Profession: Senior Liaison, Strategic Partnerships- ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

How long have you been on this weight loss journey? Probably since grade school if I’m being honest!

Weight Loss/Inches: 17 lbs and inches lost EVERYWHERE following recent Rock Your Jeans challenge. Can I get an amen for the simple pleasures of feeling more confident in strapless dresses and skinny jeans?!?!?

What was your “low point”? Over a 1.5 year span, I lost both my 42-year old Big Sister and my Daddy to pancreatic cancer. They both had only 6 weeks and 1 month on Earth from their diagnoses, respectively, before they went to Heaven. I knew after I lost them that it would probably be easier to sulk in the sadness and let bad habits define me, but I was determined to rise above it. God gave me this body, Jesus died for it and lives in it. It was my responsibility to take care of it and to channel that grief into positive changes for myself and my family.

How did you get started? I am a level 12 out of 10 extrovert and will ALWAYS try something new with a friend. A friend talked me into trying classes at LiveFIT. As someone who had never attempted any group fitness class, I was nervous and worried I would feel intimidated. What I found was the opposite- a loving, encouraging community designed to keep my spirit healthy in addition to my body and to help me become accountable in taking care of myself! Cycling classes were my first love and then I tried other classes from there.

What is your workout routine and eating plan? As a full-time working Mom with two angels 5 and 3, 5am workouts have become my best friend. Waking up is the worst part and once I’m done I feel amazing and ready to conquer my day! Best of all, I am home as they’re waking up and I feel no guilt about missing time with them. I try to get in 3-5 studio workouts a week and to stay active at home with my kids or on my elliptical when I’m not in a formal gym setting. I also learned so much about clean eating from the Rock Your Jeans challenge. While every day is not perfect, I’ve learned the kind of fuel my body needs and craves to feel great. Two keys for me are tracking food in My Fitness Pal and ensuring I drink half my body weight in water oz. per day.

What are your top 3 favorite resources that helped you along the way?

1.) My AWESOME God- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” –Philippians 4:13

2.) My INCREDIBLE Husband and family who love me at any size but help me in every way possible to feel my best.

3.) The DYNAMIC LiveFIT community- friends, coaches and all of the folks who always cheer me on.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting? Don’t wait for your life to become absolutely perfect in every way for YOU to take care of yourself and to lead the life God designed for you. Take the initiative NOW and remember small, consistent choices lead to dramatic results!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process but is feeling discouraged? Find a buddy who can be your prayer partner, vent partner, champion and accountability sounding board. God didn’t mean for us to tackle our life challenges alone!

Anything else you would like to share? I’ve done every diet and quick fix weight loss plan out there over the years. LiveFIT has allowed me to make real, consistent life changes that I can always take with me, no matter what life brings. I’m so grateful for this incredible community God gave to me and would love to have YOU next to me in a class soon!
