How long have you been on this weight loss journey?   2 years

Weight Loss/Inches:   I lost the first 50lbs in a year of doing bootcamp only. The next 10lbs came off once I started running. I can’t tell you how many inches, but my size 18 jeans are now a size 8 🙂


What was your “low point”? When my XL and sz 18 pants were getting too tight. I refused to go buy bigger clothes.

How did you get started? LiveFit was running a Biggest Loser team challenge. I thought my competitive streak would respond well to the idea of trying to ‘win’.

What is your workout routine and eating plan?  At first I was doing 4-5 bootcamps per week. Once I lost the first 50lbs, I joined the running group. Now I do 3 bootcamps plus 3 runs.
Eating? Well….that has always been my downfall. I do really well during the challenges, but then tend to revert some in between them. I’m working on that….


What are your top favorite resources that helped you along the way?

1)  Food Journaling – my fitness pal   
2)   Challenges – extra incentive and accountability 

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting? Do it! Do it now! Don’t wait until you’ve ‘lost a little weight’, or ‘got in a little better shape’ before going. Everything can be modified for your level. Nobody is going to judge you once you get there as they’ve all been in your shoes when they started. LiveFit really is like a family. So supportive and encouraging!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process but is feeling discouraged? Don’t give up. You’ll have good days and bad days. Don’t let one bad day hold you back, just pick yourself up and start fresh tomorrow. 
Shake things up. If you’ve hit a plateau, add in a new type of workout. Do a studio class you haven’t tried before, or join the running group.

If you are a parent, how have you balanced everything? Thank goodness for the 9.15 classes! I can get my kids off to school and head over for an hour of ‘me time’ 🙂

Anything else you would like to share? Trust me. You’re not too old. You’re not too out of shape. You’re not too overweight. None of those things are an obstacle to starting the journey to a better, happier, healthier, you, and it is a journey my friend. It will take time, and it will take patience, but trust that you too can do this!
